Bone Healthy Cream of Potato Soup

Potatoes and milk are both loaded with bone healthy nutrients.

That's why this delicious potato soup recipe combines these ingredients to give you all the nourishment you need to avoid osteoporosis.

Potatoes are a good source of vitamin C which is essential for collagen production. Collagen is important for healthy connective tissue and joints. Potatoes are also loaded with the minerals magnesium and potassium which are essential for bone health.

In this recipe, the magnesium and potassium in potatoes are balanced out by the calcium in the cream and cheese. This combination creates a powerful and tasty meal that will help keep your bones strong and healthy.


8 cups filtered water
3 lb (about 8) organic potatoes, peeled and diced
1 organic yellow onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 ½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp organic black pepper
1/3 cup grass-fed butter
2 cups grass-fed cream
1/4 lb organic bacon, cooked and chopped
1/4 cup organic cheese
Fresh organic parsley, chopped


  1. In a large Dutch oven, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add potatoes, onions, garlic, salt, and pepper to the water.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer, until potatoes are tender.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes in to the cooking liquid.
  6. Mix in butter and cream until well combined.
  7. Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired.
  8. Top each serving with parsley, cheese, and bacon bits.
