One good way to track your symptoms is keeping a food journal. It is a simple and powerful way to correlate symptoms with certain foods.

You record everything you eat along with notes about how you feel throughout the day. In just 1-2 weeks of food journaling many people are able to pinpoint what foods are causing them symptoms.

Dietary Changes

For most people, dietary changes are necessary to reduce inflammation and joint pain. Limiting sugar and processed foods in usually the first step.

Another common inflammatory trigger is nightshade vegetables. If cutting out sugar does not do the trick, try eliminating nightshades. Nightshades include potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant.

Fresh, flavorful fruits and veggies provide an abundance of nutrition for the body. These vitamin and mineral rich foods will help the body to reduce inflammation. Consider adding more anti-inflammatory foods such as berries, leafy greens, broccoli wild-caught fish, and olive oil as well as herbs and spices.
